What is eSIM Air, and how is it different from a standard eSIM?
eSIM Air is an eSIM at its core, introduced as a flexible, multi-trip connectivity solution alongside our standard destination and regional plans.
So, what is an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built directly into your device hardware, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. It allows you to install and activate mobile data plans instantly by scanning a QR code or using one-click installation within our app.
What is the difference between a standard eSIM and eSIM Air?
Both operate using the same underlying eSIM technology, but serve different travel needs and validity periods:
Standard eSIM (Single-Trip & Fixed Validity):
Includes single-destination and regional plans (such as China eSIM, Japan eSIM, Europe eSIM [33 Countries], or Asia eSIM [9 Regions]). These plans come with fixed validity periods—typically up to 30 days (e.g., 30GB / 30 Days)—with a dedicated eSIM profile installed for each travel plan.
eSIM Air (Multi-Trip & Reusable via Top-Up):
- Two Global Coverage Tiers: Available in two distinct global options—Global 83 Regions and Global 122 Regions—providing seamless cross-border connectivity across multiple destinations under a single profile.
- 365-Day Extended Validity: Each eSIM Air package comes with a 365-day validity period (e.g., 10GB valid for 365 days). Every top-up resets the 365-day countdown from the transaction date.
- Install Once, Reuse via Top-Up: You only need to install the eSIM Air profile on your device once. When you run low on data, simply top up your existing plan directly in the app—with zero need to reinstall or scan a new QR code.
Who is eSIM Air best suited for?
eSIM Air is ideal for frequent flyers, business travelers, and digital nomads who cross borders regularly and prefer managing continuous data via top-ups on a single profile, rather than purchasing and installing separate plans for every trip.
